we run a 4960 on a thrower with a 14 foot silage blade out front, it moves tons of snow
-
@shakes244 An original 6420 before 03 i think , is 115hp... after (when the common rail motor came) they had 120 original from factory

ya 6420 is only 85 hp that thing is weak

it's rated at around 90hp at the PTO. And 90hp in a tractor is not weak at all, in fact, it's very powerful. Plenty powerful to run this beast of a snowblower.

I agree, it's about Torque Not HP.

Exactly.

90 HP is pretty powerful but my grampa has a 160 HP at the pto. He also has a double auger snowblower and that thing will throw snow over those huge powerlinnes, it is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Wow that is powerful. Hey check out my new video "John Deere Snowblowers," because the snow removal company replaced the tractor you see here with a 6140D, which has 140hp at the PTO, and they got a larger single auger pronovost snow blower for it. The video is of the 6140D blowing over 2 feet of snow. Its pretty awesome.
