when i make cheesecake i use cream cheese and sour cream. never heard of quark being used in cheesecake. wonder how it taste.

I live in canada, our cheesecakes are no different than america's. No recipe I've seen (besides those coming from people associated with videojug or based in the UK) ever uses quark cheese, or sour cream, and graham crackers are generally used for the crust.
Nothing against the recipe, I'm sure it's good in its own way, but I don't think it's particularly american.
