Elderly Grandmother Thwarts Eviction Attempt By CitiGroup Mortgage Lender 7.27.12

Annette Steele, an elderly 79-year old grandmother residing
in northeast Portland recieved notice that her home is being
forclosed upon by a lender under the CitiGroup umbrella.
Steele has lived in her home for 25 years and was close
to paying her home off. A multnomah county circuit court
judge ruled in favor of eviction enforceable as of midnight
7/28, and dozens of community supporters and media
outlets showed up to hear Annettes' story. She says she
will not be moved and will remain in her home.
