So during the New York Anime Festival 2007, Veronica Taylor Rachel Lillis and Jaime McGonnigal had their own panel...And I knew I couldn't pass up the opportunity to ask 'em to do a voice.

Rachael and Veronica are just joking around. They dont really support May and Misty being together. May and Misty dont even really know each other! They only saw each other in like 1-2 episodes and hardly even talked to each other! Both Rachael and Veronica know that and are just making fun of the pairing. It makes no sense at all and has no logic.
