Title: Hari Hara
Game: Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga
Composer: Shoji Meguro

This is a rundown of my 100 all time greatest RPG battle themes. There may be missing songs I may have never heard or games I'm not familiar enough with.

I will be only posting a maximum of 2 themes from a game and will try to use original arrangements when possible. I will also be focusing on lesser known games in hopes of introducing something new to you.

Enjoy!

  • I liked the kind of fuzzy, dreamlike quality of the first game better than the harder edge of the second.

  • Agreed. Atlus rocks.

But the thing that's hard or "annoying" about DDS2 is Satan, sheesh .. you need luck.

Besides that : no problem. Didn't have any problems starting off hard.

  • Can you all please stop arguing and just agree that Atlas rocks!

  • A new level of perfection.

  • @hybridial

Nope, I found the optional bosses easy compared to Meganada or Vritra.

  • @skuckon

The Answer technically isn't stuck on hard mode... Hard mode in the Journey has the added effect of giving enemies "enemy advantage" often no matter what, and enemies don't deal nearly as much damage as they do in the Journey's hard mode. However, it's still hard for a variety of reasons, including bosses being able to dodge their weakness...

  • @FirestormSurtr Well, it's only certain elements of DDS2 that are hard. You can avoid them, and can make the unavoidable ones much easier with the right mantras. Nocturne has no such luck, there are a lot of points where encounters can kill you.

Also, as to the Answer: that's STUCK ON HARD MODE (seriously, the dev team said it's on average with the Journey's hard mode). Of course it's difficult!

And the Answer is still easier than Nocturne's hard mode. P3P's maniac mode takes the cake though

  • @FirestormSurtr

I have and liked that track. However, the recent Persona games have little else for me to like. Both in game and music forms. =/

  • I must imagine you are counting the optional boss fights for DDS2, because without them DDS2 is probably the easiest Megaten ever.

And only reason The Answer is so hard is Persona 3's battle system is horribly broken and unfair next to Nocturne's.

  • @Cashmoneyn0

I played DDS, DDS2, P4 and Nocturne and The Answer was the hardest among them for me. Nocturne is nowhere near as hard as DDS2 and DDS2 is nowhere near as hard as the Answer.
