Glenn Beck, while interviewing Rainforest Action Network Director Mike Brune on CNN on July 9, asserted that "it is animal gases that produces more CO2 than any of the cars that we're driving." Mike's response: "Sounds like a bunch of bull to me, Glenn." In fact, as Mike states (and as practically everyone knows), cars and coal are by far the largest contributers to total greenhouse gas emissions, far outweighing methane and carbon dioxide from cows.

  • Lol 'the best way to produce energy is by saving it'. This guy is a genius. Then when Glenn corrects him and says in fact 'that's not producing energy at all, it's saving it' all he guy can do is say 'riight':-)

Glenn you're the man speaking for the rest of us with common sense. Keep it up

  • glenn beck is right. nature does put out more co2 than we do. where he's wrong is that that is the natural componenet of co2 concentration in the atmosphere. the "problem" is that we're adding additional co2 into the system, thus adding co2 that is not put back into the environmental cycle, but that still doesn't mean that co2 is causing a change in temperature.

  • Glenn was wrong about the fact that nuclear energy is clean. Just look at Japan...

  • Cows produce a lot of CO2 gas... More than every car in the US combined

  • Nuclear power is the best source of energy by far. This guy doesn't know what he's talikng about. It's extremely hard for someone with little knowledge of nuclear energy to turn a fuckin nuclear power plant into something dangerous.

  • @phillycat26 I realize this comment is more than two years old, and that you probably won't read this, but it's stupid enough to warrant a response. You've made it clear that you're ignorant of basic scientific knowledge. Don't you realize how dirty the chemical make-up of coal is? And... wow. While it's true that all respiration produces CO2, plants produce a net negative of CO2 - meaning plants decrease CO2. As for animal emissions, I believe that moron Glen Beck is confusing CO2 with methane.

  • Just ask mr burns. There is nothing better more cleaner than good old nuclear power. Glen beck can take on all these tree huggers with both arms tied behind his back way to go GB

  • some volcanos produce more c02 sulferic acid, etc in one day than all the cars in the world combined

  • Beck has got mixed up between methane being the worse greenhouse gas (per unit of volume or weight) and CO2 being the worse (by amount released per year).

If he realized that it's the methane that cows release which is the problem and not the CO2 they release, it would have made more sense to him.

Though modern agriculture means food is basically made from oil, so that's another thing to consider.

  • Even a stopped watch is right twice a day. Glenn Beck is a loon; the kind of blustery, loud-mouthed lout one wishes wasn't on their side, but even a loon can have someone put seemingly accurate information under their nose.

Good news for the vegans, really, whom one might think would embrace this kind of thing as it allows them another justification to forcefully (by way of fear) promote their ideology, and by this proxy, their religion -- their 'green faith.'

  • hi clen beck haters

  • i saw the tv coverage of tim russert ... how he was in great medial shape ... suddenly was killed ... i mean died ... that people medially healthy can drop dead at any moment ... the guy was dixie chicked .. pat tillman'ed ... valaorie plamed ... it was the rushie neocons again ... don't speak out against them .. there is only one side of any issue ... what you see on fox .. especially this year when a black is running for president .. the rushie neocons base is racist and sexist ... unthinkable
