Hey guys!

Well I've had quite a few requests for this one so hopefully it answers some of your questions. This vid goes out to all you (new) cosplayers and performers who haven't had wig experience yet. Hope it helps!

I start out by showing you how to style your hair so it lays as flat as possible under your wig, how to put on a wig cap, how to put on your wig, and how to pin it securely. Bonus wig styling tips at the end!

(All you guys with short hair can obviously skip the first step haha).

***Tip***
This tutorial shows me without my extensions in, so you'll notice my hair looks much thinner. This makes it easier for wigs to sit better on my head, however, my extensions are usually sewn in, as you may see in other videos, so when they are, I often braid my hair in 4 braids instead of 2 to cut down on bulk. I may make a tutorial that shows this in the future, but for now, if you're a girl like me that has extremely thick, long hair or extensions down to your rear, then try 4 braids and pin in a halo around your head.

What you'll need...
1. Small elastics/ponytail holders for your braids. (2 for average hair, 4 for very thick or long).
2. Hairspray
3. Bobby Pins (preferably in a color close to your wig color) *Tip* If you are using a wig that is an extreme color, like a party wig in hot pink or blue, major brownie points for spray painting your bobby pins in the same color so they blend seamlessly. (I apologize, I was lazy in this vid and I think used all diff. colors of bobby pins haha. It's easier to hide with a black wig).
4. Wig Cap
5. Your Wig of course!
6. Teasing brush for styling

  • what type of hairspray did you use on your wig? Did you also use that same hairspray on your own hair?

  • You're so gorgeous. You remind me a lot of Lea Beaulieu (bad girls club) And all your little comment boxes made me giggle ^_^

  • So I have REALLY thick hair, like, ridiculously thick, and it's fairly long (mid-back). Is there anything different I should do short of cutting all my hair off, or would following this be just fine?

    Thanks for the vid! :)

  • Are you naked at the end?? O.o

  • Thank you, this video totally helped! Your so pretty:)

  • You look just like Haley from paramore omg

    Great vid :)

  • You. Are. GORGEOUS! I am so jealous. great video. keep it up :D

  • The song "Missing Minnesota" had me watch the whole thing. I was born and raised there and it made me smile about my old stomping grounds. Ohh, I see now how her hair is coming along-AWESOME! Thanks for the video :-)

  • Thanks, this video answered all my questions for my upcoming halloween wig. I have thick long hair and didn't know how to hide it under my wig. Well done video!!

  • @TrueEnchantment Yes, I know! DX "When you buy them off ebay, it will say if they can or not", meaning it says if the wig is heat resistant in the product description, and to what temperature the fibers can withstand. I have melted an old wig before, and I have straightened good wigs before.
