  • I have a GTL200Dx and love it. Mine works perfectly and never a problem.

  • @76SRV190 same here good buddy, for the price you just can't beat them.

like I said in a previous comment, give them an abundance of current or a good earth if mobile and the best aerial you can get hold of and you will have no problems.

nobody knows what radio I am using unless I tell them.

  • I have had this radio for a few years .. The Cobra 200 has been the most stable, best receiving, and clean xmit radio I have ever had .. also the radio has alway had a clean sound .. The only thing I did not like is the face of the radio .. even with it in a place that is NOT in the sunlight ... it discolored to make you think that the heat inside of the truck when it sits changed it to yellow or it was diesel discolor .. but do not know. But I would recommend this radio to anyone!

  • @mollyfaith1 cobraworxshops sell all the replacement parts to clean up the appearance. they're easy to find as they sell on ebay. 73's

  • i like it can hop come back

  • Cobra 200 GTL DX was one of the best radios that Cobra had produced. It's a shame that though the thought of putting together a RCI 2970 fighter was a good idea, the execution was poor, and it hurt Cobra's image. Still, I love this radio for what it is, excellent received with almost no drifting on sideband, what more can you ask for?

  • @miserableoldcunt also I do have a flat match, and an antron 99 on the house and a flat match with a penatrator on my vehicle. On my truck I have a wilson 5000. I try not to run junk.I thinking of getting a magnum s-9 in a few months.Either that or the mags3175. Whats your opinion on these radios?

  • @miserableoldcunt like I said previously I have several radios . I have a galaxy 959 w/ssb and it does a good job at getting out. I do not own any kind of xtra power and I can still talk to anyone that will listen. Of course in some cases I have to yell a little louder but I will be heard. Now I live on the east coast of the U.S. and with my little barefoot uniden I have talked to the west coast, balieze,Jamaica and others. not bad for running barefoot

  • @wheelholder12 a 78 xl eh? wouldn't be my choice mate, but hey, each to their own, I'm just not interested in anything without ssb and good coverage.

  • @wheelholder12 Hi, I do own two of these, the most important things to remember with these radios is to

a, give them enough current , mine draw 22 amps just talking normally on full power, if they don't get enough current they'll warble and sound bad, so a big psu and a good quality power lead is needed.

b, use the best antenna that you can , they do a lot of power it needs to go exactly where it's supposed to.

c, be sensible with the mic gain, around twelve o clock is perfectly adequate .
