This video is a project for our 2010 APUSH class, taught by Mr. Beck (AKA: GOD). It depicts Louis and Clarks journey through the Louisiana Territory, gracefully sung to the tune of Taylor Swift's "Love Story."

Guitarist: Mitchell Guske
Singers: Torsten Ward and Kamaran Francis

Thanks for watching! ;)

Lyrics:

It was 1803 when our journey started,
We strapped on our boots, and we departed,
Heading West;
To map The U.S. is our quest.

See the plains,
See the unpathed trails.
We promised T.J. that we would prevail,
And say hello, to the Indians we didn't know.

Then we met a girl, who could translate for us,
And her baby came with her in the wilderness.
And we were saddling our horses,
Getting ready to go-ohhh.

And we said, "Sacajawea, lead us through the unexplored;
From D.C. to the Pacific Ocean.
You'll take the lead and we'll be the guided;
It's a long way so, lady, just say yes."

So along the way, we ran into a Grizzly;
We kept quite cuz' we're all dead if he sees us.
Run and hide.
Escape this valley with our lives.

Oh-Ohhh.
Then one day, it started raining and didn't stop,
We had to take shelter, lest we get washed away.
But eventually it stopped,
And we were all back on the trail.

And we said, "Sacajawea, lead us through the unexplored;
From D.C. to the Pacific Ocean.
You'll take the lead and we'll be the guided;
It's a long way so, lady, just say yes."

"Lewis, I think we just about have it all."
"Yes, Clark, you're right; maybe we should just go."
"Say goodbye to Indians and let's pack our bags."
"It's a long way so brother let's head home."

Oh-ohhh.
Oh-ohhh.

And we got tired or walking;
Hoping there were no new plants to be found.
Our love for 'splorin' was fading...
So we are now home-bound.

And we said, "Jefferson we're sorry we came back early,
But we mapped a lot of the Louisiana Territory.
Met with the Indians and even fought a bear."
He went to his desk and pulled out our shares; and said

"Lewis and Clark, you've mapped the final frontier.
Your journey sounds dangerous and full of fear.
I'm glad you are back from your awesome quest,
Now go take a shower and get some rest."

It was 1803 when our journey started...
