Robin Of Sherwood - Clive Mantle on "This Is Your Life" 1995

This is a clip from the BBC tv show "This Is Your Life" featuring Clive Mantle. It was broadcast in 1995 when Clive was playing Dr.Mike Barrat in Holby City / Casualty.

I recorded it on good old vhs tape in the days before digital ( remember those days ! ) so I do apologise for the quality of picture and some parts when the sound goes quiet.. I just recently re-discovered it when going through old tapes - thought it would be interesting for Robin fan's to see.

It was a great moment in the show when most of the cast came on to celebrate with Clive - Michael Praed, Judi Trott , Ray Winstone, Mark Ryan, Phil Rose, Peter Llewellyn Williams and Nickolas Grace.
Shame that Robert Addie wasn't there or Jason Connery.

They reminisce about filming at Bamburgh castle and playing a practical joke on Matthew Kelly who was filming a show in the area called "Game For A Laugh" - anyone remember that?

It featured Jeremy Beadle, Henry Kelly, Sarah Kennedy and Matthew Kelly. It was broadcast around the same time as Robin - Saturday evening and featured funny articles and practical jokes on members of the public. A light entertainment family type of show.

Yeah, thanks for posting this. I remember when it was shown, it was sooo exciting to see they cast back together again.

I loved this programme. I was completely in love with Michael at the time and he's still gorgeous today, hehe.

Michael's actually quite tall isn't he, I didn't realise that and Judi is a beautiful and elegant as ever.

@TheDevinius. Is it region free? I don't live in UK but is in Sweden but if it is region free then I'm certainly interested as it is my favourite take on the Robin Hood legend. He's been my favourite hero since childhood. Or maybe he is an anti-hero since he is actually a thief? I don't care, I don't care what the sceptics say. In my heart I know he has existed for real.

@Rayneenights There is a complete Robin of Sherwood DVD w all 3 seasons on it. Loads of extras - the outakes are hilerious! Showed what a laugh they had on production! I loved it too! Best Robin Hood series made yet! Season 2 finale was awsome!

I'm not british so I've never seen this show with Clive Mantle except for that short clip here until now. I hope they release an ultimate Robin of Sherwood box on dvd with plenty of bonus material with stuff like this. I was a huge fan of the series in the 80's and a Robin Hood fan in general since I was a kid. It's my favourite depiction of the legend and it was quite clever to fit in both Loxley and Huntingdon. It was a powerful moment when Loxley is killed at the end of season 2.
