@rockermanmatt Well that and the UK version has that bizarre unfunny British humor (Monty Python style). It's interesting cause Ricky Gervais alone can be quite funny.

Michael isn't an asshole he is just completely inept and out of touch. But, despite his ineptitude, he truly WANTS to be a good boss and ends up trying way too hard and repeatedly blowing it. It's what makes his character great.

@ESPxTele See thats the thing, I don't know about his character supposing to be an asshole, maybe cringeworthy which has some elements of asshole thrown in. You're right though, some of the later episodes are a little far fetched too

LOL in the early part of the show I think they made Michael Scott just a little bit too much of an asshole, good thing they toned him down a little
