@GrHellas What if there was a law that said no one may have a gun, then a crazy corrupt cop harasses you? What can you do? Or what if someone gets a hold of a gun and breaks in your house?

@GrHellas I have many guns - accumulated over generations throughout my family as well as many that I have acquired. ALL of them are locked away. not everyone in the US SHOULD have a gun but I think WE think it's important that we CAN have them, ya follow? it's the most blunt aspect of our constitution, the one that even the freaking idiot red-necks can lobby for. that in part, is why it holds so much weight here. Here in Maine the most common instance of a misused firearm is a hunting accident.

@GrHellas Thats a stereotype. I dont know where you got that from, but 3/4 of houses dont have guns. at least in my experience anyway. only a handful of people here have guns.

@GrHellas Simple. we all have guns because of teh sheer number of nutcases we deal with. Remember, parts of the US were penal colonies once upon a time. Also, the US is quite literally a country baptized in blood (along with the most of the western hemispere.) All this with a generous dose of paranoia...
