In this edition: updates on US-Mexico border security, especially concerning the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas sector. Comments from the Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff during his recent visit to Laredo, TX are shown, as well as comments from U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar on the "freeze-out" of business leaders from border security discussions with the Secretary. Also serious concerns, especially economic ones, are stated by the Mayor of Laredo, Raul Salinas, and the Chairman of the International Bank of Commerce, Dennis Nixon. Factors contributing to these concerns are the "Border Fence" construction plans, Immigration restrictions despite a growing U.S. demand for laborers, and discrimination of Hispanics as opposed to other visitors.
