Atari was trying to combat the threat from Intellivision, so they created some games under the "Realsports" label that looked and played a bit better than their original games.

    Well for you kids who only know Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, back when I was a kid, this WAS state-of-the-art

  • There's a neat double meaning in this ad when Billy refers to "that other guy" as the one "who just *talks* baseball."  George Plimpton, the "other guy" referred to, was a noted sportswriter before becoming Intellivision's pitchman...

  • @Trance1972 man i wish i can own all the systems that was made from 40 50 years ago to the present day and have a store so people can relieve their childhood dream and ill make kids understand that atari was the one who made games what it was today

  • @Trance1972 when nes was dying down in the late 80's to early 90's when the came out snes and genesis man 8bit to 16bit atari was dying down so they made all sorts of bad systems like atari 3200 or watever the bad system was you had a choice on those 3 systems i got both genesis and snes street fighter 2 and mortal kombat thats all i play man i wanna play atari 2600 the game was so innvation and all the earlie game systems was all pong consoles nothing else to go from pong to atari

    Double meaning?? It''s a staight-forward shot at Plimpton and Intellvision....you couldn't mistake it for anything else at the time.
