listen and take off yeah

lyrics:
Heard of a land held by a troubled hand
Where the whiskey runs the coal
Don't you dare go ask the newsman
Cause he'll tell you everything
He don't know
She was the daughter of the second American Revolution
A tall girl with a stones constitution
And when she looked into their eyes to see
She know she ain't never going back to what she believe
To what you believe

So go and riddle me over
I'm a man got nothing to show for
My work in the ground
In this here Londontown
So go and riddle me over
I'm a man got nothing to show for
My work in the ground
Got my back to the fire
But it ain't the bridges that are falling down

They said they would never fight no more
After the day she went away
What in the world are we all fighting for
If we don't give they're going to take

So go and riddle me over
I'm a man got nothing to show for
My work in the ground
In this here Londontown
So go and riddle me over
I'm a man got nothing to show for
My work in the ground
Got my back to the fire and my feet on the ground
But it ain't the bridges that are falling down

Its just another
Its just a
Go and riddle me over

Go and riddle me over
I'm a man got nothing to show for
My work in the ground
Got my back to the fire
But it aint the bridges that are falling down

She did again
She did again
She did again
Oh that's not to hold in place
She did again
She did again
Oh that's not to hold in place
She did again
She did again
Oh that's not to hold in place
She did again
She did again
Oh that's not to hold in place
Heard of a land held by a troubled hand
Where the whiskey runs the coal

Go and riddle me over
I'm a man got nothing to show for
My work in the ground
Got my back to the fire
But it ain't the bridges that are falling down

Say that again
You say that again
Oh what's left to hold in place
Say that again
Say that again
Oh what's left to hold in place
Say that again
Say that again
Oh what's left to hold in place
Say that again
Say that again
Oh what's left to hold in place

  • ummm...........i actually already added the lyricsto the description but....ok

  • This isn't dispatch, its state radio.

  • i intentionally wrote state radio/dispatch, because dispatch also played it live (on the all points bulletin cd)......look at the video response. i think this song was written by charlie stokes aka chad urmston aka chetro, who actually was member of both bands.

    nuff said

  • Not tryin to nitpick, I love this song, but you have the lyrics of the longer "All Points Bulletin" (Dispatch) version and audio of the "Us Against the Crown" (State Radio) version. Great song either way

  • thanks man!

And now he's Chadwick Stokes. lol. Chad Charlie Chet Chadwick. He could be named Bubba Gump and he'd still be an amazing writer/singer/person. His new solo album Simmerkane II is wonderful btw. Thanks for the post! :)

  • i think it was better when they were dispatch

  • My favorite SR song - Calling all Crows is damn close though. I was fortunate enough that someone close to me shared this amazing and socially conscience band with me.

  • i saw state radio in vienna and it was so amazing!

  • Doesn't Camilo also cross between Dispatch and State Radio? At least with some live songs.

  • awesome

  • this song is one of my favorites. my goodness do i love this band. forever and always :)

  • I liked the version Dispatch did a while ago more (on All Point's Bulletin). I'm pretty sure this is just State Radio's.

  • i think im doing this song for my contemporary lyrical dance!! I cant wait! I love this song.
