In 2005 to celebrate 50 years of ITV, Central Television (and all the other regions) delved into their archives to pick out their best loved programmes. Naturally, Crossroads was picked out in the Central edition and it charted the highs and lows of the soap.

This was originally uploaded by another user 2 years ago but I've decided to reupload it so I'm taking NO credit for this video.

  • Crossroads was treated very badly by Central Televsion - had it been looked after it would still have been with us today, and there would have been no need for a trashy comeback. Incidentally, the third incarnation in 2003 was absolutely dreadful, and Yvon Grace, who produced it, should never work in television again.

  • Why would a company try and kill of a series that is making them money? They treated Noele Gordon with such disrespect I, I am sure that didn't help your illness, prob put her in an early grave.

    RIP Nolly

  • @morgansifer82 I totally agree. Central TV didn't know how lucky they were to inherit Crossroads from ATV - until after the axed it!. The remake was good - except the Yvon Grace version which was diabolically bad and killed it off!

  • Jane has it right, they traded in the name Crossroads, filled it with teenagers and killed Jill off as an insult to orgial viewers.Noele was axed in 81 not 82 as the programme says.

  • Where's Benny Miss Diane? Played by actor Paul Henry. Amy Turttle, Shoeee Macfee, THE GREAT ESCAPE. (never mind about the spelling).
