Notice the rocking boxcars toward the end of the train. I took off from Kings Mountain after this train passed and easily beat it to Grover.

  • that rocking is called Harmonic Rock..it happens when the train is getting up tp norman speed.

  • Interesting. Haven't heard about that before. I've seen it happen lots of times, though.

  • omg what is in that horn a wounded animal?

  • Yeah. They strapped a moose to the front of the locomotive and used it as a horn.

  • Yeah, they gotta get rid of that horn.

  • haha, I have this exact same vido at salisbury NC, this is NS 119, he had a fouled K5 on him that day, Nice Video!

  • Yep, that's him. They should have put 2610 in the lead.

  • @boardman49 Thats the original horn that engine has had since it left the EMD plant in the mid-late 80s. Dont you think that after 20 years on the road that a horn would get out of tune?

  • Nathan P5

  • WHAT KIND OF HORN IS ON THAT TRAIN

  • that dose have a sick sound

  • I should have checked after it was filmed, but I should tell you that I got that same engine in the lead of 134 back in March and man the horn needed maintainance, but ended up with an all EMD lash up.
