I like the fact that they couldn't build a boat, but they went ahead and built a spaceship.
-
I'm pretty sure that's how the Black Mesa incident began.

@Redflameman Tina Louise wanted nothing to do with Gilligan's Island after the series ended. They had to alter her look so they wouldn't be sued for using her likeness.

Wow, I never knew this one existed. :O

Yeah,in my opinion they ruined Ginger by turning her hair white. Red hair was one of her signature features.

@Redflameman Ginger's hair was white on the animated The New Adventures of Gilligan's Island back in 1974 - 75, as well.
-
@RomanoGiovanni The cartoons were also network projects, so I imagine the actors either got paid well, had contractual obligations, or both. But notice they couldn't get (or didn't want!) Tina Louise.

@Redflameman The Professor couldn't synthesize henna on the other planet, so she had to settle for peroxide.

la quiero en español =D
Actually, this series aired from 1982-1984 on CBS, though it's predecessor, The New Adventures of Gilligan, aired on ABC from 1974-76, and on the Groovie Goolies and Friends as part of a syndicated package from 1978-79. Wished it were on DVD, but AOL Time Warner owns the rights to the series, sad to say. But what a show it was!

Very true. I was pretty sure Paramount had the rights though. I could be wrong. Maybe someday, if they continue on with plans to do a Gilligan movie, it will generate enough interest to push them into putting both series out on DVD. The fact that they're finally releasing the animated Star Trek series, which was also done by Filmation, gives me some small hope.
