Steven Spielberg hosts a special edition of Evening At Pops, where John Williams conducts the orchestra as they play selections from his scores for Spielberg's films.

Themes are played from Sugarland Express (with legendary harp player Toots Thielemans playing along with the orchestra), Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, 1941, Raiders of the Lost Ark and E.T. The Extraterrestrial.

  • I love even the recording errors. It's like finding a treasure. Thank you very much for sharing this video.

  • @realizro21 You are quite welcome!

  • i want to hear his speech at the end :(

  • @Frederik5495 me too. Unfortunately, that's all there was..right after this, it went into something else, I think.

  • Amazing!!!

  • @Frederik5495 He was not giving a speech, actually. He was about to introduce his guest, Maureen McGovern for the second part of the program. She sings a couple of Gershwin songs and at the end she sings "Can You Read My Mind" from Superman by John Williams.

  • they hired a MATHEMETICIAN to do such a simple calculation?

  • SHARK!!!

  • @spacepatrolman WTF are you talking about? Spielberg was NOT on-set, Only one person, teamster Carl Pittman, out of a crew of nearly 35 people said he was there and then later admitted he probably confused Spielberg for Frank Marshall. KNOW YOUR FACTS OR STFU.

  • @HectorJW2007 watch the video the rifleman superman

  • @Koldeman mens reya means guilty of mind spielburg was there but ran away before the cops came

  • @spacepatrolman John Landis was responsible for that- NOT Spielberg, he wasn't even on-set during that debacle. Be mindful who you accuse of murder if you don't know all the facts.

  • There needs to be more episodes of Evening at Pops on YouTube! Or PBS should at least release the episodes on DVD! Hell, they should revive the series!

  • @realizro21 they should have left speilburg out of this its not williams fault that he killed vic morrow and 2 children

  • Goosebumps at multiple points throughout this video.
