  • I think those ginger were marinated. What is the taste of it, do you know

  • @udon890 . I sent them from time to time to family and friends in Holland. It tasted sweet.

  • The young girl preparing the ginger and the jars, looks like my aunt when she was younger.

  • @AIKOAIKOSAN . Yet she was Japanese?

  • isn't it garlic?

  • ...and I wouldn't have smelled the difference?

  • Mr. Rogge. I want to thank you for sharing all your wonderful historic footage. This sugar glazed ginger in the beautiful porcelain pots is a by gone era. I am impressed with your sensitivity to the Asian culture in your young age. Your film and photos are rare archival treasure of the old HK in her most memorable period. Viewing your collection evoke the bitter sweet memory. I was amongst the young children in the early 60's who's daily life you captured so eloquently.

  • When I am a student, I have a field trip to one of the factory with our school mates. Even I am a chinese, I beleive it is a bit dirty, because they do not use gloves when they are working. lol

  • Thanks for posting!

  • @MichaelRogge: Yes sir. I love Chinese culture. I bought an exquisite jade bangle.
