Lang Lang played a concert with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra on 1/10/11. After playing the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2, he played a special, very emotional encore, the Rachmaninoff Prelude in D major, dedicated to the victims of the Tucson shooting this past Saturday, and to the city of Tucson.

  • It will take me forever to interpret anything near Lang Lang's quality.

    ... probably a lifetime?

  • amazing how lang lang manages to take a piece that is over-the-top romantic to begin with and STILL exaggerate it to the point where it no longer sounds like music

  • @1fattyfatman i could not find Wangs version of this prelude on youtube to hear. But, artists including pianists have an artistic licence to interpret a song as they wish. the greatest tragedy is not recognizing that and criticizing an artist for being an ARTIST. If an artist can`t interpret a work and put some of him/herself in it, then he better pack his/her bags. we`ve heard these peices the `proper ` by-the-bk way enough times already.

COME DOWN..DUDE.......RELAX..OK...YOU WILL GET OVER WITH...

  • overrated

  • Haven't the people of Tucson suffered enough?

  • @eveecooper yes it is. the recording seems to be done from a shaky hand-held camera lol.

  • @TheIshter Don't mind a guy like that. Eventually, a generalized hate comment is expected when a video is favorited or posted. Constructive criticism and generalized hate are two different things, and I'm sure Lang Lang responds well to the former. Who knows, that guy is probably just another one of those bigots against Asian men in general. And the typical fetish for Asian women. I probably could assume that he's some kind of french, albanian or a closet nazi living in Arizona.

  • @1fattyfatman This is dedicated to the victims. At that moment, only cunts without a heart are insensitive enough to actually criticize the dedication. Slap yourself.

  • Wonderful performance!
