The Japanese excel in robotics because the Japanese population is the fastest aging population. Meaning there are far more old people than young people. They are basically creating an army of robotic care takers for when the there are not enough younger people to care for the elderly.

What "other things?" Why do you think they keep trying to make the robots look so "human?" Trust me, they believe that in a few decades, there won't be enough young people to take care of their elderly, since they have high respects for the old. So they are building additional help that can be mobile, productive, and something we can be more comfortable living with in our, or rather, their homes.

I do agree with your theory man.

But the fact that you say: they are good in robotics because that age thing is excesive.

Although it can be a reason but it is secondary. The primary reasons they are good is robotics are other things. But at the end do you know what?when the accident happened recenlty at the nuclear factory they asked from americans robots for: rescues, searching at the wreckage and things like these although it is supposed that they are the best at robotics

  • @LanRous

Firstly, it's a fact. Has nothing to do with belief. Look it up. I won't do much research into your second question. Our friend Google can do that for you. But based on what I've read, my theory is this. The elderly heavily depend on their families for financial and physical support. This addition of expense may hinder couples from being able to afford a child. Then they become too old themselves to have children. By 2020 Japan will be 25% elderly. This is what the trend show

  • what was the robot of the year for 2011 ?

  • @NoamTube

First of do you believe in what you say? and secondly do you know why the thing with elders happen?

  • @WeAreTheRiot well.. some countries just want to stay homogeneous =)

  • @WeAreTheRiot LMAO you don't need anyone to answer you that do you? Robots don't rob and kill and create ghettos. I'd take robots over immigrants any goddamn day.

  • I want to know if the robot can roll a blunt?

  • @heroiclegendxxx obviously no IT´S TOO FUCKING BIG!
