My first video for youtube, showing off my glass 'studio' finally setup, Movie was taken with my Canon S3is and edited with Windows Movie Maker (Vista Ultimate), hopefully I'll find a better video editor in the future

Special thanks to Acroduster for all his awsome vids and information he shares so kindly, as well as all the others of you who post lampworking videos, Timiaglass, hotglass, cdmarblez and many more. I hope to make some videos showing how to do things that I find harder to learn, since I am going to be doing youtube from the beginning of my lampworking experiments I will hopefully have a good perspective on the things that begginers like me have trouble with, my first hurdle will be cold seal puntys. I seem to have issues with them melting into the pendants I make and not coming off when i want them to. Anyways thats for another time and I can't post a video on it untill I figure out what im doing wrong heh.

  • Looking good! My only word of caution is if you're placing that box fan up in the window for exhaust, you will have to change it out to something beefier that's not made of plastic when you get into using the major burner.

As far as editing software goes, it all depends on how much money you want to spend. Don't know much about Windows programs. I'm sure there are plenty to choose from and others that are more knowledgeable and can help you out more than me. I use a mac with final cut pro.

  • Yeah a real exhaust system is in the works but I did add a beefier fan for the time being untill I can get the exhaust system in place.

I got a good tip for some editing software and am liking it so far, haven't really had much time lately to make any videos with it due to looking for a new job (I hate working for wal-mart)

  • very solid first works!!!

yes, we got your back!-) and will be celebrating with you!-)

You have majorly touched me with this video. go brother! go!

oh, and your loops are looking very good for just starting out!-) rock on!

  • You have any recommendations for video editing software? I am a extreme geek and can learn about anything to do with software but I want to start out with something thats good so I dont have to re-learn a new suite because i outgrew the old one. Thanks a million

  • Double amber purple indeed, its quickly becoming one of mine aswell.

Waiting on some things to fall into place so i can start playing around again, was borrowing a oxygen bottle from a friend (they don't rent them here so its $185 deposit for the tank and $47.86 with tax for the oxygen for a standard welding tank of oxygen, think its called a k tank) and he needed it back.

  • I love that winship takes such good care of us lampworkers!!!!!

all hail Dave the man!-) and Deb, and the whole darn team!!!!!!!!!!!!

    hip hip hooray!-)

  • its not just you, me and my tungsten pick and reamers are my best friend when doing loops, they are one of the toughest things to get down. you are doing very well. by the way, I saw double amber purple did I not?-) one of my favorites!-)

  • Thankyou for the kind words, means a lot coming from the guy who inspired me to start this artform in the first place :).

Funny you should mention my loops, in doing those pendants the hardest thing for me to get right was the loops, i kept having to melt them in and poke em with the tungten poker then ream em back out heh.

  • Good job. Keep up at it. We all got your back!
