in the early part of the 70's when the Canadian Armed forces became united as one unit. All wearing the same uniform no matter what service you were in. All the highland regiments were disbanded to the militia only. It was a black time for the service. Moral went down the drain for a long time.

lowland scots are of anglo saxon origin? I don't believe this is true. sorry but it just smells like bullshit.

@irishgodfatherchris.... ulster scots is actually a germanic language similar to english....... the lowland scots were anglo saxon in origin....... northern english also settled in ulster......llalans or scots........germanic language

@Rikki0 the Picts were the original tribe of Scotland and the Scots were a tribe in Northern Island who emigrated and eventually absorbed the Picts into their culture (hence why Northern Islanders speak Ulster Scots not Irish)

My Dad is somwhere among those troops marching..he went on to 2RCR and we spent 15yrs in Gagetown which to me is my hometown no matter what....now he's 75 and still goes to the Black Watch reunions

@Barrakketh . Sadly the last Col. of the Regiment Col. Scotty Morrison passed away last month. He was such a gentlemen and I think I can say well liked. He was a Korean Vet and dearly loved the Black Watch.

I have no idea, people are trying to get a copy of the orginial I have a copy of copy it is not very good. Try CBC or the National Film Board is your best ,bet good luck.
