Dance-O-Rama was the first new wave TV dance party seen weekly on Atlanta public access television. Created by Paul Burke, The Fabulous Reina, and Tom Zarrilli, it featured local bands, comedy bits, RuPaul's Learn-to-Dance and an odd crowd dancing to the best new wave records. The show was discontinued after one season due to the difficulty of serving proper refreshments in the public access television studio. The Swimming Pool Q's were the top band in Atlanta that year and gave this Dance-O-Rama a big ratings boost.
One of the greatest groups ever to emerge from the Athens, GA rock scene, but, sadly way too under-known.

"The Deep End" certainly ranks way up there on my list of greatest-ever debut LPs. Awesome post.
