    Yes, that would sound funny if that happened. However, I think Cookie Monster is not trying to be rude, he is only confused where everytime he chose a book he would say "and a box of cookies" where as soon as the libary said "we don't have cookies", Cookie Monster probably thought he said "we don't have that book" which is the reason why Cookie Monster kept choosing a different book while reminding the librarian not to forget the box of cookies where he understood then from 2:06-2:10.

    "Me... want... BOOK... about cookies." lol

    I bet that book about cookies would be very informative. By which I mean different cookie recipes. Informative enough for Cookie Monster to take notes and try to make the interesting cookie recipes.
