His live performances are transcendent...as where his recordings are on the cerebral side...kind of lacking the 'human element' of his live spontaneous read of the acoustics of the place/people etc.

Not a fan of Andrew Bird, but this is a great performance.
I love the way you can hear the chaotic hum of the other artists playing at the festival around him, and when he starts playing there is an illusionary fall of silence.
Hard to describe, but this performance has something that the rest of his music (so far as I have seen) seems to lack.
