Response to A1FELONY:
That's even another reason for people not to have these things isolated in their tanks. They should be out there screwing their little brains out and making more 8 armed little wonderful monsters. The only ones that I am ok with owning these creatures are places with breeding programs and public aquariums in which they have all the stimulus, company, and medical care they might ever need.

exxon just dumped another 100 mile long spill of oil maybe this guy is doing us a favor we might have to go to his house to see the last octopus. if you love octopus so much or sealife in general stop driving and walk

there nothing wrong with owing this octupus as they arent endangered and providing you give them a good size aquarium to live in that mimics a reef crest or something like that and put some live fish in there or crabs for it to hunt they will love there home but that are curious animals, they like to explore everything which means you need to seal the top of the tank as they can squeeze through a 1 cm hole no problem

if its wrong to have one in as a pet, how is one in an aquarium acceptable to you?

its lightning from the windows, wind is playing with curtains and they cover the sunshine getting into the room so it makes that flash

I wonder if videos of of prisioners condemned for life pasing back and forth would be titled "Human plays during the day". I found this video sad to watch. Octopus are brilliant creatures. If you like one so much donate the money that you would heve spent on the mollusk and the set up to an ocean protection agency and go to your local aquarium and look at the ones they have there for as long as you want.

Just because one loves something does not mean one must own it. They are intelligent creatures. Let them be in the open ocean. I find it odd that the video is titled "Octopus PLAYS during the day. I see no signs of amusement on the side of the animal. It looks more like it's trying to get out. You like the thing? Go SCUBA diving.
1 dog, 2 cats- domestic species well adapted to humans. All three are stray rescues (none were bred to satisfy my whims) and are part of the family. They choose to come in and watch TV, sleep in our beds and practically take us down when we get home, meaning they probably want to be with us. The octopus, I don't know. What is the average range covered by that breed of octupus daily? Based on that, is keeing it in a tank fair? Do we know enough about its natural behavior to satisfy its needs?
