It would be really hard to cut your finger off with a band saw 'cause the teeth on a band saw are tiny.

Depends on the blade, I have one with 4 tpi and they literally pull the wood into them as they cut, if you don't hold onto your work it will, and has been, ripped from my hand and thrown.

This is the prototype so it is not on the market yet, the table saw is for sale now though
