Klaus Schwab, Hans-Rudolf Merz and Vladimir Putin address the World Economic Forum in Davos. They then sit down for a discussion with Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, Michael S. Dell and Carlos Ghosn.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation says his country will not be "isolationist and egotistic" in the face of unprecedented crisis.

He calls for international action to boost global energy security and for the state to stay out of business.

Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin was the second President of Russia and is the current Prime Minister of Russia as well as chairman of United Russia and Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Union of Russia and Belarus. He became acting President on 31 December 1999. In 2004, he was re-elected for a second term lasting until 7 May 2008.

Due to constitutionally mandated term limits, Putin was ineligible to run for a third consecutive Presidential term. After the victory of his successor, Dmitry Medvedev, in the 2008 presidential elections, he was then nominated by the latter to be Russia's Prime Minister; Putin took the post on 8 May 2008.

  • United States of acting as a parasite on the world economy by accumulating massive debts that threaten the global financial system...... that is true...

  • @NeoNeumonic well because they fear him, he doesnt stand for the same stuff as the republicans and democrats do. they only want "capitalistic" leaders in every contry. but when that said, putin owns to much in russia and that aint good.

  • @AwesomeBeatles ye but thats because americans only vote fore dickheads

  • Can we here in America borrow him for a few years ? Wow, a politician who speaks the truth, what a concept. Thank you Mr. Putin.

  • No volume. Pls fix. Sposibo

  • And yet in America charming douches out of glitter fame like Schwarzenegger and Regan get elected.

I can only imagine Putin crushing everyone in a sound political debate while Palin repeats issues of freedom and democracy and guns and freedom like a parrot.

  • @gyaanfreak

He was the FSB director under Yeltsin which is federal internal police. A bit of a different role than KGB of the Soviet Union. But yeah...the guy is definatley a talented administrator none the less.

  • If the U.S. Constitution were amended so Arnold Schwarzenegger could run for President, Putin would easily kick his ass and become the President of the USA.

  • Corrupted asshole, search another role model.

  • You people completely don't understand of what you're talking about. Putin is not what it seems to be. He's an american puppet, who is just allowed to talk against West. It is only talk, nothing more. He is not the best Russian leader, but worst.
