  • do you use real - physical compressor before it is recorded on the computer?

I guess compressor (that's in a computer ) doesn't do anything when recording on the computer.

i get clipping when I record and i don't know how to prevent it.

    thanks.

  • @kopeckat Yes, I use an actual compressor before it goes to the D/A interface. It's incorporated into my mic pre - the one I have is the Joe Meek and it allows me to compress the signal a varying amount, and adjust the input and output levels of the unit so that I'm getting a strong signal into the computer but not overloading. There are plenty of similar units that aren't too expensive but do a great job - Studio Projects stuff is worth a look.

  • what headphone you using

  • @kieranblacker Those ones are AKG K141 - recently I've switched to Sony MDR - 7506. Both good, I just like the Sonys better!

  • hello, what sort of microphone do you use to record when you're playing guitar and vocal at the beginnig (3min)?

it's sounds good. thanks for the video

  • It's a Rodes NT1. Thanks for watching.
