  • what if the Windows cannot start, then how you perform restore?

  • @KatiushaVN4 you probably need to use a repair disk instead (I know it's confusing they are close in names!). That will allow you to repair the system startup. A windows 7 repair disk is a bootable disk. I have a video on how to create one. You may need to borrow a friend, co-worker or family computer also running Windows 7 to create one. I have a video on how to do it entitled Windows 7 - Creating System Repair Disk. I hope this helps.

  • I am annoyed with this explanation becasue System Restore was able to bring you back about a month which is what I need this is not available now on my computer. This used to be a facility now it is gone stupid

  • @reitha1 it's only available if restore points are available. Sounds like you are lacking restore points on your system which is unfortunate. Sorry to hear that.

  • I got up to 40 secs of the video, there was no option for me to click on system restore. It wasn't highlighted.. Help please

  • @spoonhunter3 you don't have any restore points saved it sounds like. This is a very unusual scenario because generally there are some from when windows updates, etc are performed. You will have to repair your computer the old fashioned way I am sorry to say.

  • Hey, quick question of you- I think I caught a virus yesterday morning. My computer is running fine, but I did a "Norton Power Eraser" scan & it said it found something, then when it tried removing it, it said "Remove was unsuccessful", I think it may be a Stealth Virus. Right before I got this virus, I organized A LOT of files, moved them around. If I would restore my computer back to a week ago, will my files still be organized or will they be in the location where they were at a week ago? Thx

  • @EgibsIpodhelp no that is not normal, chances are something else is wrong. I would try restarting the process and see if it goes through.

You might want to boot into safe mode, hold the F8 key down while starting up then select advanced boot options/choose safe mode. Hope this helps.

  • I did this and i clicked a restore point three dyas before and my system restore has been at restoring registry for three hours is this normal plzzzz help

  • @AURAXMARK you can access it by typing "system restore" without the quotes in the search box in the start menu also. It will be the only option that shows up in most cases.
