Okay it sucks for one simple reason: you can't use it in office. Instead, learn to type faster. It's possible and it's easy and it will allow to type at speed fast enough to amaze others.

@tarkinfish What you do is. Open dragon speech and on the toolbar it says words. Click it and click "new" and then you should be able to add a new word. If not google "How to add new words to dragon speech"

@tarkinfish i barely tried, i mean the one MS has in its operating system really sucked, so i figured DRAGON must be better with its huge TV campaign now... i just wasn't patient enough

do u have to train the thing for awhile before its really worth it?

i type around 50 words a minute, so i'm also wondering the cost benefit as to when a typist should go to dragon, at what speed... thats why i asked about that...

@glorp896 Not sure exactly but typing essays takes twice as long for me. Whether it's being more prone to distraction while typing or whatever, it's just a lot easier to use this programme. For me anyway. I would suggest torrenting it first though before you buy it so that you can find out whether it works for you. Just watch out for viruses! The top-rated comment is showing where to go for a free tryout of the programme, so if you're willing to take the risk then good luck :)
