Major Richard D. Winters, an American hero, passed away on January 2, 2011. He was immortalized by the famous Brecourt Manor assault he led, and by Stephen Ambrose's "Band of Brothers" followed by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielbergs' "Band of Brothers". He was truly one of America's finest. This video is dedicated to his memory, as well of those of everybody else in the Greatest Generation.

  • a great tribute to an even greater man. thnx for sharing.

  • I'd follow that man to Hell, because I know he could lead me to Heaven.

  • Rest in peace . You will not be forgotten. An American Hero.......Earthly and Heavenly Hero...

  • When I was 4 I went to an air show and got to shake the hand of one of the D-day paratroopers. He did not get to see to much action because his leg was baddly wounded from an artillery shell. Too bad I was too young to see how honered i was to shake ww2 veterans hand.

  • this is a man that I wish I would have the privilege to even shake his hand. Now, he's gone but will forever be remembered. Rest in Peace.

  • @Kr3W06able i remember my own mother telling me of the stories of my dad, he'd never spoke of the horrors to me, they all saw so much, but the nightmares were awful for him, as were all these brave men, major winters was no different, my father was in the africa campaign, the desert rats, and followed later into france, he was in awe of the americans and how much they lost on d day, hence my tribute to dick winters
