The Ruby Runs Red is an entry in the Philadelphia based Project Twenty1 2011 Film Festival competition.

Detective Mulligan (Steve Underwood) is a hard-bitten cop who has seen it all. But his investigation into the death of Cynthia Rhoads (Trisha Graybill) and the disappearance of a priceless ruby yields a shocking conclusion. Mulligan migrates the land mines of his wife Daphne, a hapless social climber, while investigating the victim's boyfriend, dinner theater actor, Leonard Schtickle, Rhoad's best friend, Mary (Rachel Daly), and a trail of historical intrigue.
