I don't know how BRF is doing them in-house these days, but the commercial versions our wholesalers sell are all tied on standard-length (rather than short) hooks and have much more-tightly dubbed bodies than this one. The X2 caddis and Iris Caddis (more recent flies) are much fuzzier. Our version of the X caddis certainly isn't a new pattern, but it is a variation on what we could buy from the offshore manufacturers.
