@knavecornbread I constructed a red katana, and the method I used to bend the PVC was by using a pre-bent metal rod and putting it inside the PVC, before heating the PVC (slowly) with a low-power torch. I was as even with the heat as possible, being careful not to burn the PVC. Once it was sufficiently heated, I let it cool on its own before removing the rod. My katana has lasted me two years, and through some intense fighting. (Hope this helped).

@aileanjeune the color systems dictate the damage of the weapon For example
Red= 2 handed weapon = ignores armor
blue= 1 handed weapon = 2 hits to go through armor

@danalinesmahoney i make all my poles out of bamboo and i've never had one break, but i keep it restricted to about 6-7 feet long.
-
@randoth357 it is light and strong, but not strang enough, when blocking withthese wepons, they go under a lot of pressure and the bamboo would break after a match or two.

Nice stuff guys.

I don't understand the color thing. Everyone here seems to have black tape. Also, that guy with the long curved weapon seems very over-zealous, especially with such a lame weapon combination. Would his attitude and/or that weapon combination be allowed at actual events?

@GodxOfxYours for great swords and pollarms you should consider using bamboo, it's light and strong.

@ostinius thx i think that is the most helpful so far. i tried makin a kopesh using a small lighter to heat where i wanted to bend it but it made weak spots and one solid hit to a helmet and it broke
when I was a kid we used sticks off a tree to do this, then we upgraded to kendo sticks, foam takes the fun out of it.

@stilesp1985 - "fun" means different things to different people. To some people, the chance of hurting one another is what "takes the fun out of it." And to some people, the chance of hurting someone, getting sued, and having your organization outlawed is what "takes the fun out of it". There are many kinds of combat games, some of which are more hazardous than others, but Dagorhir strives to be safe as well as fun.

To bend the pvc is very tricky from what I've heard, and if you're not careful it becomes brittle and won't last more than a few battles; as far as I know, the best way involves soaking it in boiling water (some say to put it directly over a heat source to make it pliable, but that results in brittleness. Do some research, I'm not sure.
