You're definitely correct in that the anti-bullying message still stands. Do kids still get bullied for braces? I know I did when I was in high school in the early 90's. Maybe so many kids get them nowadays that they are considered different. But when you have your beautiful chompers in x time you'll rise above the norm and not bully people with crooked teeth! I don't think his lie should be downplayed though. It was very sick and twisted of him to manufacture a story that are many's realities.
