Should I remove the Fantastico text file in after the Joomla installation or not? Would it create problems for future upgrades? Are there more problems using Fantatico? Alex implied that by warning us, didnt he?

You COULD do it all manually, but just use the JoomlaPack extension. I must say here that I have never actually moved a Fantastico installed Joomla instance and so I don't know how or even if that will affect it - yet another reason Fantastico scares me.

Hi alex,
Could I ask what is the difference between using fantastico or manually installing through Cpanel?
Thanks.

If you install through fantastico, joomla becomes much more coupled with fantastico and is more difficult to upgrade later. Also, fantastico tends to add files that it uses to keep track of what version of joomla you have. Removing these file(s) can cause serious problems. More than anything, I say installing manually is best because you will have a better understanding of how it is configured under the hood which will be invaluable if (when) something goes wrong.
