Here's a little bit of trivia about this video. The guy playing second guitar to Rick in this video is Alan Merrill. He wrote the Joan Jett hit I Love Rock And Roll. I told you it was a little bit of trivia!! Rick is by far the most underrated guitar player on the planet. Great performer and even greater guitar player. I've must have seen him live eight or nine times and he always kicked ass. Wrote some great songs, had great bands, just could never get over. Go figure.

@Just4Meeeee Derringer is very well-known and has no shortage of admirers, both fans and music industry insiders. You're just plain wrong...

I know this is 1982. Years back...I like the song. Rick Derringer is underrated. He seems to be well known by a lot of people. Great guitar playing. Sorry to judge his voice, it's good, confident, yet it could use a bit more projection, I don't mean scream, just projection. I shouldn't talk I can't sing, but if he was just a little louder. I was going to mention this in one of his more recent video clips. Other than that, Derringer is underated I think.

@mistyntwisty Glad to say I have this on VCR tape
Rick needed a "Steve Vai stage fan". He sid that was his single most important piece of gear when onstage,,, it kept him COOL - both feeling and looking as it got his hair blowing around too. :)
Derringer was GREAT and never got the notice he should have. His self titled album "Derringer" is one of my favorites ever, and almost impossible to find! I wonder who he pissed off??? No other way you can explain it, cause it's GREAT MUSIC!!!

Sounds a bit like Ace Frehley.

Rick is an original and an influence on other singers and players from before Kiss existed. To me in fact it always sounded like Steve Miller was copying Rick, at least as a singer.

You're right Jim, actually Alan Merrill, who plays rhythm guitar and sings the high harmony on this song with Rick, did write the classic "I love rock 'n' roll". Apart from writing it he also sang the original 1975 first released version of "I love rock 'n' roll" with the band Arrows, and it's on youtube if you want to see it.
