The reason his voice is the way it is in the video is because he is 2 inches from a microphone in a room the size of a cracker jack box. He can't sing at the same level he sings at in a concert or studio recording. Go see them live and see if he can't hit the notes. If you have been to a concert then you know he can sing his own lyrics. One of the best live bands ever!

Love his voice. and also the whole thing of every one saying smoking is the reason for a voice to be bad. okay a little bit. but I have done lessons with Melissa cross and smoking isnt going to make ur singing voice bad or good. one of claudio's problems is the breathing. its not bad from the smoking, its because he doesnt use proper breathing techniques when he sings. acid reflux will mess ur voice up no doubt. claudio needs some lessons for breathing techniques.

@Vaughndersex dude its not nessisarily the voice but the lung capacity i dunno if you knew this but to sing like claudio you need a pretty decent lung capacity, smoking definently harms this.

@s92dx Thats called falsetto and if he sang with his normal voice the whole time then he might as well get the explorer out and go all out but acoustic... it has to be calmer... i talk in circles so what wanna fight about it?

I wished Claudio's voice could be this clear when he's live. It sucks that he smokes, because that did a big damage on his vocal range as well as limiting his breath.
