The Arab states are responsible for less than 5 percent of the worlds total carbon emissions, but according to the Arab Forum for Environment and Development (AFED), they are among the most vulnerable to climate change effects(AFED) has gathered their recommendations to combat climate change in the summit carried out during the end of November. The paper issued reported that some of the potential negative effects of climate change on the Arab states are water stress, loss of biodiversity and decline of food production. Recommendations were written with the hope that they will be taken up to the Copenhagen summit which started on the 7th of December. It is important that this issue is seen as a shared responsibility between all countries disregarding each country's contribution to climate change; at this time, every little step counts.
