This week on This is Chicago Jazz with Mike Jeffers features live performances by pianist Don Stille, interviews with Chicago Jazz Philharmonic and trumpeter Orbert Davis and Thomas Zoells from PianoForte in Chicago.
Throughout the show Chicago pianist Don Stille will be performing solo piano and also solo accordion. Mike also interviews Don later in the show and they discuss how he got started, all of the different places he has performed and some important thoughts on where jazz has come and where it is heading.Don will be performing this Saturday March 13 th at 3pm for the PianoForte Foundations Jazz Salon.
Orbert Davis is in the studio to discuss his upcoming performance at the Auditorium Theatre March 11th at 7:30pm with the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic called From Ella to Mandela The Legacy of the African and American Spirit.
Also on the show are PianoForte and the PianoForte Foundation founder Thomas Zoells. He discusses the rich tradition of the FineArtsBuilding in Chicago, how he started the PianoForte store and also the purpose of the PianoForte Foundation and the upcoming performances.
