PLD, RNG, SAM, BLU, WHM, RDM/DRK

The role of the PLD in the standard strategy has refined over the weeks. It's best if the PLD runs all the way up the stairs to the party. This enables him to dodge judgment seed entirely, and taking less damage saves hate. Since he's also dodging the job ability reset move, he's able to use sentinel, rampart, and shield bash again as well. Furthermore, running to the party puts him in range of AoE buffs like diamondhide or COR rolls if you have one.

The mistake people made was trying to tank this like Alexander. The PLD does not need to be far away from the party, because the AoEs are centered around the seed, not around the PLD. The only potential danger is -ga spells if they are not stunned. Fortunately, barthunder and AoE stoneskin should be enough to protect you from the occasional mishap.

I believe the key to winning with this strategy is always a good PLD. A good PLD should have over 1700 HP with food. He should also run immediately when drawn-in, and only use abilities at a safe distance.

  • what about when the seed uses the move where he turns the pld into a mandy? then what.. that seemed to be my problem, PLD couldnt stop being pulled in and turned into a mandy

  • It's okay as long as it's not the mages getting pulled in. There's minimal curing involved, so the DDs are always next on the list, and they're somewhat expendable. Sometimes people lose because they stop doing their jobs when something goes wrong, so make sure you keep stunning and killing clones.

You have to make sure the PLD runs before he uses abilities. If he's stupid and stops underneath the seed to use flash or provoke, then you're in for a world of hurt.

  • I lost 5 times in a row to this fight because of poorly geared and poorly skilled players that were dumber than a brick. Then i was struck by luck, one good player from a previous attempt invited me to his party and he had his LS mates there and we obliterated it with the ranged style. I was the little taru Whm. ^^

  • Nice strat...I havent gotten this far yet, but my friend is stuck on this fight. This might help him out a bit ^^
