This video is so sweet! Love this mom! It is so true - when I came out to my parents, it was a big shock, and they didn't know how to digest it. When I walked down the aisle to marry my (now) wife, my dad didn't walk me. But they did come to the wedding - they were in the middle of actually working through having a lesbian daughter. Now, a year after we got married, my parents love and celebrate us! They got us a surprise anniversary cake last week! It CAN get better!!!

@bachmann4president I'm sorry for you that you feel this way. Having hate in your life can be very destructive. I would suggest you seek counselling to better understand what is driving your homophobia. Often people with severe dislike of gay people are in fact gay but cant deal with it. Best wishes to you

@bronxtwin My sister is younger than me. She reacted fine, but she was a little worried about how my parents would react. I'm more afraid they'll be angry then worried, but you never know. I'm definitely waiting until I get older to tell them.
This is a beautiful video from a wonderful and loving mum. I would be proud to have you as my mum.
I love the way the video ends and it rings so true to me - It gets better - so much better. Hang in there anyone struggling with their sexuality - you will survive and thrive and have a wonderful life. Best wishes to all and congratulations PFLAG mum for your heart warming message. x

You're a parent and you're supporting this filthy lifestyle? You ought to be ashamed of yourself.

@bachmann4president I'm sorry you feel this way. I would hope that you came onto this site to become educated. There is so much wonderful diversity in this world. Instead of condemning things you don't understand, why not take the time to learn about GLBT issues. You'lll find that most people are alike and have the same hopes & dreams. I am in no way ashamed of myself. I'm working to educate people like you & to ensure that all GLBT children have a place in the world with full equality .

I've already told my sister, but telling my parents is what I'm the most afraid of...

@Blueyejo7533 Is your sister older than you? How did she react? Would she agree to be with you while you tell them? What do you think your parent's reaction will be? Do you think they'll be worried about you, or are you afraid they'll get angry? If you can anticipate their reaction, it would help you in the way you tell them. Also, depending on how old you are, you might want to wait until you're a bit older to tell them.
