i stayed there in the early 80"s. i was about 12 or 13. this video looks like nothings changed. from what you say, i bet the rooms look just like i remember. maybe it is time for a renovation... i think they oughta' renovate the music too. sounds like pity music. there was an awsome seafood bufet, with a big ass bowl of shark fin soup. i have to say... my favorite!

Stayed there in 1998 for about 3 weeks, in 2003 for 2 weeks, in 2005 for 2 weeks in 2006 for 2 weeks in 2007 for 2 weeks and now in one week ill be coing back for just one week
its the best hotel ever

I just came back from Penang. And I stayed at Golden Sands.~Sigh~ Im gonna miss Penang. My dad says we can go back there next year ( That's gonna be a long way.. ) after they are done with their renovation. Adventure Zone is.. okay with the Wii! ;]] Best hotel in Penang! ;3
