Im no longer a bait dog! Im what they call a catch!

UPDATE: Help was found!!! This is my new life! Day 2 of week 1.

I was found as a stray in Austin and am in a local animal shelter. I was given another 24 hours to live yesterday with the help of Rusty Cage Rescue. I have no name. I have no family. I was found in a field by animal control. I have been used to breed and then was used as a bait dog. I have injury's all over my body including an open wound the size of an adult fist on my neck. A representative of Rusty Cage Rescue came to see me yesterday, I was so happy and excited I just wanted to jump in her lap and lick her to no end. She was crying so I tried my best to be cute and silly to make her happy! As I licked her tears away she told me I was beautiful, that I was a good dog, and that I deserve a chance! I don't know what a chance is but I'd like to have one! I'm hoping it's one of those round things I've seen other dogs play with!!!!

Rusty Cage Rescue cannot facilitate this dog at this time, we have no fosters that would be the correct fit for this young boy, so we are asking for help! You may look down on this plea from a rescue origination but we have all personally felt helplessness at one time or another and know what it takes for someone to then reach out for help. Daily this rescue is told "you can't save em all" but we try and try again, because where there is faith, second chances live.

People are so cruel! I found a dog a few days back. I took him in and gave him vet care. The vet told me he was a 'bait dog' b/c his teeth were filed down, he had bite wounds everywhere, he was heartworm and hook worm positive, emaciated and his leg needed to be amputated b/c was badly broken and 'not salvageable'. My husband and I were shocked... We decided to keep and treat him. Unfortunately, he escaped from our backyard  and drowned in the lake by my house. We are devastated :(...

Made me cry that he could still just want the love of people when it was people who put him through the torture he had to endure. Poor thing. I hope he found a home and didn't have to be euthanized. He deserves a loving family.

Pitbulls aren't actually for fighting. Months ago an article at yahoo showed old photos of small children with their pit bulls- they're actually nanny dogs- protective and strong yet gentle and caring. Whoever give these lovable dogs a bad reputation should pay for this. This baby is just so adorable and friendly. And dogs regardless of their breed have surpassed humans when it comes to loyalty and kindness and most of all he is very appreciative.
