Faster XP Ep. 16: Disable Performance Counters for Monitoring Windows

In today's video we will discuss disabling performance counters that are monitoring windows system data in the background of your computer. The perfomance counters were primarily used to gather data for use in the perfomance viewer in the administrative tools of your control pane. When we disable these performance counters, we will no longer be able to monitor the selected windows system data, but most of you don't use the performance monitor in the administrative panel anyways - so it is not a terrible loss. Apparantly, these performance counters also run in the background when you are not using the trending utility.

@NiallBongo Removing music will likely not improve your performance. You are looking at needing an upgrade at this point... most likely RAM first - unless you can give me your system specs or model number.

@NiallBongo It's probably your internet connection, go to speedtest(dot)net and post your download and upload speeds here.

how do u deactivate windows where it sends messages back to Microsoft its called a resource something. but i want to turn that off cant find it
