Romeo and Juliet: Alternative Fate

This is my third video, and first one using clips, so its special to me. Its set to The Killers' cover version of the song "Romeo and Juliet," (one of my absolute favourites by them) originally recorded by the band Dire Straights.

storyline:

I was wondering why nobody had used this song with this movie yet... and when I attempted it, I realized why. It doesn't match with Romeo and Juliet's faithful partnership as it was. I wanted to use the song, but I didn't want to twist their love into something messed up. So I thought, lets pretend that Juliet DOESN'T take the potion... and instead just PRETENDS to like the Paris guy, appearing to play along with her parents' wishes until she could find a safe way to let them know she was in Love with Romeo. I was always sad that such a innocent love had to end the tragic way that it did, but this way there's a chance they could've had much less grief in the long run and a Happy Ending too. But Romeo misinterprets Juliet's behaviour to mean she's moved on and left him behind. This video is to express his confusion, according to MY interpretation of the song set to the movie.

I hope you make some sense of it. :) I heard how many people thought the Dire Straights music video was too literal, so I kept that in mind. If you wanna get this... think symbolism. ;)

Side Note:
I had fun making this. XD There were times that what was happening fit so smoothly with the song, I was laughing mischievously during several points. Also... until I worked on this, I never realized just how many times the maid interrupted them in their intimate moments... :O

Martilicious1234, if it was *after* the song, then you must mean the parts from the movie soundtrack that you missed. Well, maybe if you watch it again later it'll work better... and for anyone else that this happens to, I'll be making a download link for this (in better quality) soon enough so that people can keep it if they want :) And that would be good I think, for those who can't see it in their countries as well... and, thank you, Martilicious!!

I *knew* that was her name! I just got mixed up for a second. :* I love how expressive she is. And about the laughing, I meant cause whenever I think about this video, I get a flash of that "you and me babe" part and thats what makes me laugh. Otherwise, i feel for him. ♥

This was so good. The editing was fabulous and the clip choices too. It was really sad. I'm sending it to one of my sisters. It's like her favorite movie ever. I love The Killers too, btw! Great song!
