The main target group of training course "Intercultural Learning From Gender Perspective", taking place in the multicultural Macedonian town Struga from 1st to 10th June 2010, was facilitators of intercultural learning activities within the framework of local and international non-formal learning projects. During the training participants learned about construction of gender and sexuality - about social and cultural impacts on understandings about what male and female is - and explored how learning about perceptions of gender roles and behavior norms in different cultures can be used to foster intercultural learning process. The program of the training included creative and interactive exercises, theoretical inputs about gender and culture,discussions and presentations about group dynamics, principles of non-formal education and designing intercultural learning exercises. In the second part of the training participants had a practical task to develop new non-formal learning tools that might help to raise intercultural competence and to understand better cultural differences through exploring gender norms and roles in different countries and cultures. Created activities were tested and improved within the training and will be published in a PDF brochure and DVD coming out at beginning of August 2010. "Intercultural Learning from Gender Perspective" aimed to give knowledge about cultural construction of gender and improve facilitation skills through giving theoretical inputs, practical exercises and constructive feedback.The group of participants included people from Spain, Latvia, Estonia,Hungary, Turkey, Macedonia, Serbia, Albania, Croatia and Kosovo.
